McDonald’s Malta would like to inform customers that it has encountered cases of scam giveaways and fake meal offers appearing to be from McDonald’s Malta with the aim of defrauding consumers.
A number of fraudulent accounts on the web and social media platforms, have appeared in McDonald’s Malta’s name, offering large meal bundles for a very low price.
Customers are prompted to fill in personal details in a special form and make a payment in advance. This is fraudulent activity with the aim of stealing users money and the offers are not delivered.
Premier Restaurants Malta Ltd has already reported this matter and requested to block the content on these platforms. McDonald’s Malta would like to remind its customers that its meals can only be ordered in three ways – in our restaurants, from the official McDonald’s mobile app, or through our McDelivery partners Wolt and Bolt. Any promotions or giveaways organized by McDonald’s Malta, appear only on official McDonald’s social media accounts and website.
We would like to take this opportunity to warn customers to exercise caution and report such activity when it’s presented to them. Carefully check the web address of any offer links, when clicking on any advertisement. If anyone has fallen victim to any fraudulent activity, they are encouraged to contact the
police.
