The health and safety of our people and our customers has been our top priority throughout the COVID-19 outbreak and will continue to be. At McDonald’s we are proud of our rigorous health and safety procedures. Now we’ve gone even further. We have implemented all the recommendations from Malta’s health authorities so that our restaurants are safe for you and for us. Here is some more information on the safety measures we have put in place to keep our people and our customers safe.
For Our People:
- We have enhanced our sick leave policies to ensure that no one who is sick comes in to work
- We do a temperature check for every staff member before the start of every shift
- We wash our hands as often as necessary, at least every 30 minutes, and supplemented this with alcohol-based hand sanitizer for our team
- We’re wearing protective wear such as face masks to protect ourselves and our customers.

In Our Restaurants:
- From the door handles to kiosks, our restaurants have intensified hygiene and cleanliness practices on all touchpoints
- We have a 2-meter social distancing policy from our counters and also in between queuing customers. Distances are clearly signalled on the floor
- We’ve placed a Perspex divider at our counters to minimize contact as well as dividers for our kiosks
- We provide alcohol-based hand sanitisers for our customers throughout the restaurant.
- We have Contactless payment services for all our orders
- We’re following guidelines with regards to the number of people allowed in our restaurants at any given time.
- We’ve restricted seating to a number of tables and chairs to ensure social distancing between customers.
For McDelivery:
- We provide Alcohol Hand Sanitisers for McDelivery couriers
- We seal all McDelivery orders to make sure your food remains safe
- We make sure the McDelivery courier bags are disinfected
- We have a contactless procedure with our McDelivery partners Bolt and Wolt.
