What is Two-Factor Authentication protection?
To improve your experience whilst using the McDonald’s app, besides setting up a password for the account, we will be introducing an additional security feature for all app users to protect their data.
Keep enjoying all the features and deals on the McDonald’s app by activating a “2nd factor”. This protects your account through the use of an email address, which needs to be verified to enable continuous use.
How do I activate the Two-Factor Authentication protection on my account?

It’s super easy – follow our guide and get it done in seconds!
Go to the McDonald’s App.
Select “My Account” from the Settings menu.

Activate “Turn on Two-Factor Authentication”.
Ensure you have entered a valid email address in your account details. This can be edited accordingly.
Tap on “Enable Two-Factor Authentication“.
Tap on “Continue” to begin the process.

The Verification Code.
When you choose to turn on the authentication feature, a 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email. This needs to be entered in the McDonald’s App.
Open your email, copy the 6-digit code and paste or type it in the field available.
The code remains valid for 4 hours, so don’t sleep on it!

Step four. There is no step four.
That’s it. You’re done. It’s as simple as that.
Is it mandatory to activate the Two-Factor Authentication feature?
Until 1st June 2021, you’ll be able to use the McDonald’s app without being required to enable the Two-Factor Authentication. After this date, this protection feature will be mandatory to all our users who wish to use their account.
